This policy explains how ERRV Rescue (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you use errv-rescue.com and the ERRV Rescue Calculators service (the “Service”). We process data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

2. What we collect

Account data: email address, password (stored hashed), subscription tier and status, optional notification preference.
Billing data: payments and subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We store Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and renewal dates; we do not store full card numbers.
Usage data: saved calculator scenarios (e.g. multi-asset) linked to your account when you use paid features.
Technical data: session tokens, server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security and troubleshooting.
Communications: messages you send via our contact form or email.

3. Why we use your data (lawful bases)

Contract — to provide the Service, manage your account, and process subscriptions.
Legitimate interests — to secure the Service, prevent abuse, and improve reliability (balanced against your rights).
Legal obligation — where we must retain records for tax or law.
Consent — where you opt in (e.g. non-essential cookies if we add them later).

4. Stripe

Stripe Payments UK Ltd (and Stripe, Inc.) act as payment processors. Their privacy notice applies to payment data they collect: stripe.com/gb/privacy.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

Stripe (billing);
Our hosting and email providers (to run the website and send account emails);
Authorities if required by law.

6. International transfers

Some providers (e.g. Stripe, CDN) may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use appropriate safeguards (such as UK adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses).

7. How long we keep data

Account data — while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure.
Billing records — as required for tax and accounting (typically up to 6 years).
Logs — short retention for security (unless needed for an incident).

8. Your rights

You may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, or port your data, and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. Contact us at contact@errv-rescue.com. You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

9. Security

We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is completely secure; please use a strong unique password.

10. Children

The Service is aimed at professionals. It is not intended for children under 16.

We may update this policy. We will post the new date at the top. Significant changes may be notified by email or on the site.
